WINE MUSEUM and COOKING CLASS
The setting for this experience will be the magnificent palace of Portici. One of the three residences of the ancient Bourbon king of Naples. Here you will visit the museum of art, wine and vines where you will discover the history of the typical Vesuvius wine, and then you will be introduced to the traditions of Neapolitan cuisine: gnocchi, pizza and pasta. History and culinary traditions will be the common thread of this wonderful experience. Lacryma Cristi, produced with native grapes from Vesuvius, was already known in Roman times. The first evidence of vine cultivation on Vesuvius dates back to the 5th century BC. The roots of the Vesuvian vineyards sink into the dark and porous lava soil, which does not need to be watered as it retains humidity and then releases it.
The name Lacryma Christi itself derives from ancient legends and narratives, such as the one that says that Lucifer, an angel expelled from heaven, took a piece of paradise with him in his descent into hell. Starting with a welcome aperitif tasting typical Campania products, we will start by having fun learning all the secrets to know and create tasty traditional Neapolitan dishes based on fresh, seasonal products.
At the end, we will taste everything together accompanied by a good local wine.
